  Doom Eternal "black levels" difference was because the Series X is running 4k/60 with HDR, your 1070 said "HDR Off." You turn HDR on the 1070 and your frame rate will drop pretty dramatically.

  A big compromise is the lack of a 1tb nvme ssd. I would've been fine with a 2gb/s qlc nand ssd, as these cost about the same as m.2 sata drives. Tha would have been a big fat MUST for a "Same-Price Console Killer"

  @Acrylico There will always be drawbags that Consolegamers like me would really miss turning to PC. And I know wht I'm speaking, I love PCs and think I got myself a real good knowledge about hardware. But I have no real need for a high performance system. I'm like experimenting with my System all the time and love that. Unfortunatly my GTX 970 quit services 2weeks after I bought it. Only backup I have is a gtx 560 at the moment on a Celeron J1900 that actually outperforms a PS4 Slim. I got a Ryzen 1300x trying to get to work a B350 Mobo with damaged socket. But unfortunatly couldn't afford some Ram so far. So gotta borrow some from a friend for testing and save for at least 8gigs single stick till I can afford a second stick.

  @Acrylico nah not really. SSDs are not much more expensive then they were ever before. The lowest I saw 1tb nvme is the crucial p1 for around 100$ at the moment it is think like at 110$. You just can't build a PC matching every great feature of a console, matching the performance. Because Windows will always take away a good margin of the performace for (at least in gaming terms speaking) unnecesary background utilities. I'd love if Microsoft released a pure Gaming oriented windows version, that focuses on pure performance optimisation.

Whereas you can't really upgrade a console. Let's see a console compete against a $2k PC. PC is to Console, as Gated Community is to Trailer Park.   Unless graphics is the absolute be all and end all, having a 'good' PC isn't about all of that. Having a good PC is more about the versatility it gives you. Consoles go out of date very quickly with the constant battling of competitors and I've had a 1070 in my rig for years and not changed my rig for years. Might not mean I can play games at super ultra settings but I can mod games, play games from years back (with some tweaking), play newer games at lower settings (but still play them), watch Netflix and surf the web without extra hidden subscription charges. I spent a price to build my PC and it still serves me fine. If I want to make a change then I can but I don't think any game justifies me whacking out a fortune just for better graphics right now.

  I know this, in Ontario a $500 Pc is trash, my $1700 Pc from 2016 cant even compare to the new consols. Im not building a PC with next generation consol hardware around here for anything less than $2000+ MsRp retail/New. PC gaming sux nowadays, theres no physical games anymore they have been discontinued for a decade now and games are all Digital (Eww) And the fact that PC hardware costs 3X4 more than a consol of equivalent hardware. If i even want any RtX gpu i have to go through Staples or Walmart lol, my local PC store thats been around 20 years doesnt even want to deal with RTX 20 series cards because there crazy expensive, and the RtX 30 series cards are difficult to get. After 20 years being a PC gamer, i now prefer consol. XbSX is a great system, not state of the art but definitely high end. But PlayStation 5s my favorite and primary gaming platform,and PlayStations controllers are unbeatable...I do love PCs and spent so many years building them but theres no motivation anymore. PC Master Nothing....IMO..

  @Asfandyar Suleman pc parts last a very long time, especially when looked after. 5 years is nothing. you are limited to one drive on console unless you go external, you can have pretty much as many as you want on pc. controller is not the way to play, it is objectively worse for pretty much all games except racing games and a few others. it is good for the consumer but the only reason they do it is to bring you in and make money off subscriptions and more expensive games. idk what small form factor pcs your looking at. bigger is not better for displays, TVs have much higher input lag, and the ones that most people use are upwards of 20ms. you can tell the difference between 1080 and 4k on a 24 inch, and 4k is pointless in the first place.

You can have more storage on pc? well you so can have on PS4 with bigger drive. Controller is the way to play, unless you playing any AOE, SIMS kinda game. if the consoles are sold at loss, isnt that good for the consumer??? why we arguing this point. the small form factor pc exist but they perform relatively bad as compared to even old consoles. . My point is that if they are opting for a gaming PC or a gaming laptop, then the budget should be higher than the cost of Xbox Series X since a PC/laptop will "likely" be used for non-gaming stuff too. Again, I'm talking only about those who have/will choose a PC/laptop as their primary gaming device over an Xbox Series X. I also understand that there will be a nominal exception to this, but in the majority of the cases, the budget should be higher.

Let's say a guy wants to buy a gaming device to play modern AAA title and would like convenience(i.e not setting up a pc for example), and he already has a laptop(a reality for most people tbh). The consoles are perfect for this type of people because it ticks all 3 things, he just want to sit down and play with consistency(i.e nearly every game on the consoles is guaranteed to run at their rated res and fps), he doesn't have to do anything other than insert his credit card here and credit card there, he doesn't need a another pc.

Gaming, word processing, programming, etc. It's nice having a place to do all things. That being said the Xbox series x is pretty sweet and the price point is bang on.   @Acrylico Even if that were true, which I don't think it is, that's not the only thing in the console's favor, as he mentioned in the video: much more storage and faster SSD, better controller, support for ray tracing, absence of a need to mix and match parts and troubleshoot everything, etc. Also, that's an INCREDIBLY vague comparison to make if you just call it even because of one thing you consider an advantage. I've bought used consoles for $10. In a few years you'll be able to get a Series X for $250 on craigslist. Think a $250 PC can match it? It's said the One X was about on par with a GTX-1060. There's no way in hell you can convince me the Series X is only as powerful as a 1070.

  Throw in the game sharing on Playstation/Xbox that you can only get on PC thru Microsoft/Xbox games, that makes the $ your saving even more one sided. I've been spending half price on Cyberpunk, Valhalla, Cold War, Far Cry 6 pre order, etc lately as my friend is game sharing them off my account and will continue to do so. I also share my PS Plus, Game Pass ultimate. It's amazing if you do it with someone you trust.

  Although it was true that PC was the master race., this is no longer the case. I tried PC, but I had problems with multiplayer. People were using under-spec PCs or unreliable internet, and they were getting kicked out of dungeons and trials. I would much prefer playing on console because people only get kicked out if they have unreliable internet, and it happens rarely.

  The thing is that those prices on cosoles can be that "low" with that hardware because Microsoft and Sony take a percent when they sell games on their systems. Let's say they get 10$ of each game on full retail price on release, and as people get more games the more they recover for hardware and still make profit. Not to talk about paid online, subcription services, DLC, etc. For PC on the other hand you got software way cheaper and still be able to do other stuff like Linus said. Dont get me wrong Valve and other game software distributors still get their share, lower, but it's still there. Still intend on keeping my 9 years old Gaming PC at least for one more year.

  @Turtle Fan on pc the Xbox game pass is free for almost half a year if you are willing to do some hassle. Not only that! You could do something on pc that many call a glitch (but it really isn't) to claim all the Xbox game pass games forever (no piracy). So free Xbox game pass + being able to claim those games after the pass ended. And this is not even the best deal you could get on the pc. 👀

  it really makes me sad to see people still beating each other over the Console/PC thing. consoles are doing so great at delivering what they should deliver relative to their price tags. I have friends and family who cannot make sense of video settings in modern games. they absolutely have no idea what the hell Anti-Aliasing means and how a single toggle drastically impacts the performance of their games. so what's the point of them having a monster rig loaded with a 3080 when they can't even utilize it? IMO, the big difference is not in the machines themselves. but the difference lies in the people who are using them. in the end, it all boils down to one's knowledge about technical stuff. if you can safely overclock your HW and optimally set your games to give you every drop of FPS possible, then go for a PC. if not, then settle for a console and play without any hassles. just remember, a PC is not a gaming machine. it's far more than that. it's everything you ask it to be. but you must know how to talk to it. with the sheer amount of rendering power a 3080 gives you, you can earn back the money by freelancing with Illustrator or Blender. you can even learn Machine learning and Neural networks. hell, even mining Crypto. I mean whatever you want. put that power to some real use. and don't get mad over console prices being so cheaper than your single GPUs. remember consoles can't even run a calculator.

  Console loses and will continue to do so, generation after generation while they continue to cling too inferior input methods. It is not a debate that KB&M IS KING! If there was native support across the board, there would be a chance. Although how long will the Xbox PSU last? The one in my ONE X died with very little use, current PSU in my gaming PC i purchased rather along time ago, think 8800GTX SLI era... Just a wee bit longer lifespan than the craptastic one fitted into xbox.

  Try building the PC without used/second hand parts, it's just not going to be anywhere near possible. And the controller is just a joke. It would be more interesting to see how expensive it would be to actually match XSX performance (SSD vs SSD, CPU vs CPU, GPU vs GPU etc.) with brand new, off the shelf PC parts. PS. I'm just a gaming/tech enthusiast who sees value for all the platforms. Too old to care about any "master race" debate.. :)
